Typically a free drink at your local bar. However, don't ask for it until after 11:00pm.

The Mat Shot is never the same. Although some of the same alcohol is in the shot, it is an unmeasured shot of quantities the depend on the night at the bar.

Every bar that serves liquor has a mat that catches the spill or overflow from a regular shot. Throughout the night that mat collects overflow from every shot or drink that is requested. Eventually a nice lake is formed on the bar mat.

Around 11:00ish...a group of friends con an unsuspecting (drunk) friend into taking a Mat Shot.

The bartender grabs the spill mat, dumps it into a shot glass and declares....."cheers! this drink is on the house!"

Great drink for new 21 year olds or bachelor parties!
